CANT GET TAXES TO WORK

Hello, I cant get taxes to work propertly. I am in california and want to charge taxes to california residents only. how do I do that. I tried disabling other state taxes. Any body can help?

Can someone help me to get taxes set up properly/?

I want my product prices to show unit price before tax, and the tax to show on a separate line in the cart. No matter what I do with the tax settings I can't make this work. Either the taxes are included in the product price making the product look more expensive, or not included the product price and no tax in the cart.

What I need is this. Example: on a $100 item I want it to show as $100 on the product page, and when I drag it into the shopping cart, to show as

Product $100

Tax $ 12

Total $112

 

I am wondering if the setup on my Product Information page isn't right. This is what it looks like:

 

 

Pre-tax wholesale price:

$ The wholesale price at which you bought this product Pre-tax retail price: $ ^* The pre-tax retail price to sell this product Tax rule: Create

 

Unit price without tax: $ per

Eg. $15 per Lb

 

 

Display "on sale" icon on product page and text on product listing Final retail price: $ 379.95

 

 

The user guide shows a line to enter that mine doesn't have.

 

Retail Price with tax ________

 

 

 

Would this make a difference?
