Need help on choosing the right modules/plugins

Hi,

a friend of mine is using prestashop to build a new eshop and he told me to help him with some stuff, as he is not technical. I would like to know which plugin/module i should use and maybe copy/duplicate/dont know how else i could do the following:

 

1. have a "book of the month", essentially a selected product to display in a box in the homepage

2. have a "comic of the month", essentially a selected product to display in a box in the homepage

3. have a "XXX of the month", essentially a selected product to display in a box in the homepage

4. have a "YYY of the month", essentially a selected product to display in a box in the homepage

 

As you can see, the functionality is the same for all of these. How could i do this? Can i use a plugin lots of times? Do i need to duplicate it somehow? Or should i use another module not installed along with prestashop?

 

Which is the best way, thinking of updates too in the long run?

noone? Not sure how to make my own boxes but not get overwritten by an update...

You can achieve this with the featured products module, install the module if not already installed.

When entering your products choose Home as an additional category, that will place that item in the featured products block on the home page.

You will need to change these manually from month to month, simply edit the current item and remove the Home category, that will remove from featured products block edit the next book and add Home as an additional category.
