need help in configuring my theme

hi guys ,

 

I installed prestashop but I want to change the theme so, I copied the prestashop theme and rename it then I started to replace the folders with the new ones.Ok

I want to know exactly

-which folders will be removed and replaced with the new theme folders

ex, modules:

-there are many modules files shall I modify them all? shall I remove the whole previous modules and upload only the new one?

 

after installing the new them:

-Do I need to re-code some files ?? If yes , could you please you mention them.

 

the last question:

-I turned my shop off for mantainance but when I try to run the offline editor front office I get prestashop is under maintainance ? is that normal because when I add my IP to run the offline mode I can not access it ?

I google any obstacle I face and I follow up with presta documentations ,please I need very simple and clear answers.
