Suggest if PrestaShop is suitable..?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am pretty new to PrestaShop , and a little confused if PrestaShop is the right solution for what i need...

I need a basic cart system for my dealers where they can log in to browse the catalog and see prices and order... the complexity is :

- Only logged in users can see the catalog and prices.

- No open registrations , users to be created by HO

- No payment option to be visible, only add the products to shopping cart and sent the order.

- Order alert to be received in HO and update the Dealer on the order status

- the index page should be the login page

- additional login in HO to upload only products and its details and not to see or modify and other feature.

Please let me know if I should use prestashop? if yes, how can i achieve the desired result.

Thanks in advance.

Broadly speaking, yes it will do those things. No Open Registration may be tricky, but should be doable. But you will have to modify the package in several places to achieve all this I think. I once did similar without any code knowledge and a lot of help from this forum.

"How?" is a different thing. It would take a book to explain all of it in one hit. You could hire one of the experts here you know.

This module will create the non-open registration environment you require using PS best practices. Please see the download section of the module for the document on how to set up your shop environment. There is also a demo.

Note: it does not hide your catalog, just the prices, cart, shipping methods etc.

Best of luck!

I'm using elpatron's module so that only my logged in wholesale customers can see the prices. Works perfectly and easy to set up. I'm also using one from another member, presto-changeo for Purchase order . After your users add pieces to their cart, you can show only that payment module, remove the check, credit card, etc. modules. They place the order with no payment and you bill them.
