Best way to save module date

Hi all,

 

At this moment I code my first presta plugin and I need to save some data for my plugin, but I don't know what is the best way to do it. I guess the best way is to do this is with saving in the data base but I'm not sure

 

I can save the data with Configuration::updateValue() but may be this is not the best way because the data from one of my variables are more than 500 symbols (include \t and \n)...

 

So, what is the best way?
