theme_designer
Please just do the online installation. Do not local install and then move online.

This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.
nestawr
Log into your backoffice, click 'preferences' and disable your shop. Then save and enable your shop. Clear your browser cache. This worked for me.
El Patron
Turn on errors and see if what the error message is when the front office tries to load. config/config.inc.php change @ini_set('display_errors', 'off'); to @ini_set('display_errors', 'on'); ftp back up to your remote site and then navigate to your front office.
