Opnes
Hi Got a strange request from a customer and would appreciate some help or guidence if at all possible. What they would like is to offer certain promotions on certain products where a voucher is redeemed. So the person would goto a contact form for that product and enter in their details along with the voucher code they have for that product (different products will have differents contact forms). Once the person clicks submit they are taken to a checkout where they pay the delivery charge for that product - again depending on the product as each product has a different delivery charge. My idea was to use the CMS and create a form and create different "product" delivery charges and take the buyer to the correct one so that they pay for that product. It seems long winded but this is what the client wants and wondered if there are any addons that you can suggest which will help with this or if you come across and different way to approch this. thanks in advance for any replies as any help is really appreciated. Mike Kranzler
Hi Opnes, I'm a little confused about the purpose of the method you posted above. Is the issue that your client doesn't want them to have to add the product to the cart before applying a voucher? It seems to me that this is a little overly complicated for what could be a very simple process, but maybe I'm just misunderstanding your request. -Mike
Opnes
Hi Mike I agree it is a little strange and seems to be a long winded way of doing this but my understanding is that they do a number of promotions with companies like QVC shopping channels. In this case the buyer would purchase the "product" on the promotion channel and they get a voucher for that product only and given instructions where to go and redeem the product voucher to get the product. The visitor would then goto my clients site and redeem the voucher but would have to pay the delivery costs only Issues are each product has a fixed specific delivery cost which is a different price for each and every product offered , and there could be a thounsands of voucher / voucher codes setup on top of this. Add on this the product offer might run for a few days to a few weeks. Their idea was to have the person redeem the voucher for that product being offered at that time, complete an online form (they dont want voucher redeemers to have to register) and then get diverted to the correct checkout with the right dlivery price for that product. sorry if its sounds strange but apparently there are a number of shops starting to do this now (?) cheers mark
