medfordite
We just finished our store today with 3329 products. At the peak, we had just under 5000 products and PrestaShop didn't flinch one bit. We scaled it down due to discontinued items and owner's choice of products. About how many products do you have in your store? I am curious to see just how many it can handle before it starts to slow down. We anticipate a steady growth of products and may end up tipping to well over 10,000 products in the next year or so.

But disable all modules that no use, and disable all statisticas that not use (visitors, etc) Good to see that there are some with a larger product base. It seems to handle about 40 or more categories (sub categories included), well also. For the modules we don't use, I have them disabled. As for stats - not certain if we will disable many at the moment this close to launch.
Mike Kranzler
Hi medfordtite, PrestaShop has been tested to support as many as 1 million products, so anything your server can handle, PrestaShop can handle. See here. I hope this helps. -Mike

Also it would be great to understand definition of "positive results" since it's quite abstract, which hardware benchmark run at, with which concurrency and with which caching tools applied? Could you please provde the link to more detailed benchmark results if any? (thanks for any related info, we currently work on multi-store solution with ~2 000 000+ EANs, and would gladly share our experience with community on challenges we ace and ways they are resolved)
Mike Kranzler
Hi 4ps, I don't have all of that information at hand, but I can tell you the tests were run on a single shop, considering Multi-store has not yet been released and was still very much under development at the time of those tests. When it comes to the number of products sold through PrestaShop, you truly are only limited by your hosting provider. If the server can handle it, so can PrestaShop. -Mike
