caseyoli
This is my first venture into Prestashop. I had a themed version published for me by TemplateTuning.com and the first time I used it I had a message saying I should upgrade to 1.4.7 Stable. I have downloaded the file. Can anyone explain to me if it is safe to upgrade and are there any pitfalls to look out for.
Mike Kranzler
Hi caseyoli, You would need to check directly with TemplateTuning.com to ensure full compatibility, but if you fully back up your site and database first, you may be interested in trying out our experimental Auto-Upgrade module. I hope this helps. -Mike

Mike Kranzler
Hi Mike, I have a problem with my autoupgrade. Can you help me? Hi mohd, The Auto Upgrade module is still experimental, and may not work on all installations depending on the core files changed. If you are having an error not resolved by any of the discussions here, you will need to upgrade manually. -Mike

dewaz
I recommend to do trial update at local computer. I have experience painful and stressful update before I have to make clean installation from scratch. I think it's wise to install wamp or xamp, then install your current prestahop. fill in some your actual product. (yes, i know it's little bit boring work but believe me it will save your life, and store). then you can backup your local site. after that you can try to upgrade. after upgrade you can make overal test, i cycle test until you think it's ready for actual store. then .. just do it without worry.
