Change to global.css not displaing

I am using the prestastore_alt theme and have created a new sign-in button and saved it as a png file and uploaded it to :

 

 

/store/themes/prestashop/img

 

And edited the global.css file as follows :

 

.v2-signin {display:block;width:129px;height:35px;background:url('../img/redbutton.png') no-repeat;text-align:left;padding-top:9px;text-decoration:none}

However the themes default theme button is still displayed. How can I fix this?

BO preferences/ performance check force compile to yes cache to no save and then access page through link at top of BO.

You can change this back after confirming updates are taken.

Anytime you make a change to code use force compile to initialize the changes.
