Google Web fonts, Fancybox and IE8: highway to hell

Hi all I'm using Prestashop 1.4.6.2 and I'm using a custom webfont from google.

My problem is about ie8. One on the last steps in the checkout process is "Shipping".

At this page there's "Terms of service" and right below a link which once clicked it will open up a modal popup with an iframe containing some text. Everything works fine here.

But when I try to close this modal box the page loses the custom webfont, the default font comes up.

This issue affects only original ie8 (in ie9 with ie8/ie7 mode enabled everything works fine).

 

Any advise would be appreciated
