LouisF
Hi, can anyone advise on the following problem? a shop visitor requests a password and the email arrives with a link, user clicks on it, receives email with new password. And now the user cannot login with password as sent by prestashop installation? This has happened a few times already and I have not been able to recreate the problem on my side with test accounts. I have tried Chrome, IE and FF all the latest versions. Trawled the forums and have not found any satisfactory answers or fixes to this perplexing problem. Please advise gurus! Mike Kranzler
Hi Louis, Is this happening with brand new users, or existing users who have requested a new password for their account? -Mike

Mike Kranzler
Hi vas, How did you import your customers from OsCommerce, exactly? -Mike
vasvra
Hi Mike I did it via the CSV import. Customers first. It accepted it Ok but had to change all Non L:atin characters and altered them via the phpmyadmin. Then I did the same with addresses and made sure there were no non latin characters. They did not show in Back office at first as there was no date which I also changed via phpmyadmin. Then all was ok in BO. I used the passwords from the oscommerce as I had them exported. Luckily I only have 32 customers on this site and it was not to bad to do the changes one by one. Now the customers cannot log in with the old details but want to give them the chance to retrieve a password and login in again.
vasvra
Hi Mike Just to show you what I am getting. My other site which works OK send the correct link with the token no as you can see below http://www.digitalelectronics.gr/el/password-recovery?token=2b7eeed4cb1e91af0090ac2958bae6d2&id_customer=10 My new site send the link below without token no and it re-directs you again to the same page you started http://www.biltong.gr/presta/el/password-recovery?token=&id_customer=28 Vas

vasvra
I give up. For new customers the password reset works Ok but for the ones I imported it does not. Well what I did from the back office I changed their password to a standard one and notified them by email to login and change it. So for me this ticket is considered closed

shakeosm
Hello, I can see no good reply from anyone. Well, I am not an expert- but may have a good solution for you. First- Prestashop password setting doesn't work normally! It uses a _COOKIE_KEY_ . So, when password is created and modified using Prestashop- it takes care of necessary settings of password. Example: if u try directly from your "PhP MySQL"- to reset the password using either PASSWORD or MD5 function- it will not work. U need to add the cookie key with your password. So- follow this link: http://www.prestashopdocumentation.info/how-to-reset-admin-password-in-prestashop/ or http://kb.siteground.com/article/How_to_reset_the_password_in_my_Presta_Shop.html Let me know if these helps..!!
