Jasen
I'm considering doing this but I was wondering, if it is not successful, or if it is successful but with problems in theme, etc, can I revert it back?
CraigMeade
I did exactly this late last year. It was a disaster for me. Luckily my shop is small, so I could rebuild it from scratch. I did a lot of research and it has worked for some and not for others - as is common with P'shop. Perhaps due to the variability of hosts, themes in use, etc. As I understand it, the auto-upgrade built into 1.4.6.2 seems to be fairly reliable, but not the earlier versions. So you might want to do it the old way this time round, and then start using auto-upgrade. You can install the new auto-upgrade module into your current version and use it if you want. That's what I did and it was closer to auto-destruct than install. But as I said, it's gone well for others. "You gotta ask yourself punk, are you feelin lucky? Well? Are you?" Jasen
Hmm how do I do this manually then?
shacker
backup your database, backup your entire site, and upload the new version to your host, and go to the install folder in the url like www.yoursite.com/install and select upgrade.
