Categories not showing products anymore

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I was trying to remove the cart function by commenting out a few lines of 'product-list.tpl' but that didn't work.
Then I restored the 'product-list.tpl' with a backup I copied earlier.
But now, when I click on a category (EagleTac in this case), it won't display the products anymore. I have attached 2 screenshots, both back and front end showing my configuration and the problem.
The front end displays '8 products', as confirmed by the number of products in the back end. But my products are not showing.
Please help, and thank you all in advance.

Are you sure you copied back the exact info in the file, the file permissions are correct and other alterations were not made.

Seems odd to me this problem is since you made changes and copied back the previous file

You dont say what version you are on, but assuming its the latest you could grab the file again from latest download - Might be worth a try

Thanks for your reply.
I forgot to state that I am using version 1.1.0.5
I am sure that before I edited 'product-list.tpl', I made a backup called 'product-list.bak'. After finding out that editing 'product-list.tpl' didn't provide the modification I was hoping for, I reverted the file from the backup.
I even tried replacing the file from the latest download.
I will try other methods of reverting the file to its original settings.

We ran into the same problem and here's what we did to fix it.

Before you upload your database, make sure the permissions are set to read & write on the database file and the products should show up after that.

We pounded our heads against the wall for 4 days before we figured that out.

Hope that helps.

Hello Derek,

Thank you for sharing your solution.
The database file was set with both read and write permission before the incident happened, and when I checked again, it still is after the incident happened.
Since then, I have removed and reinstalled Prestashop, along with its relevant database. It is back to normal now, but there should be an easier way to solve this.
Thank you anyway :)
