Google Analytics Problems

I am using Prestashop 1.4.4.1 and I cannot get the included Google analytics working.

 

Here is what I have tried:

 

1. Adding in my UA number in them module. when I do this, it doesn't retain the number and says that I have not set my Google Analytics ID. Why won't it save?

 

2. I reinstalled the module a few times. Even downloaded a new copy. Still the same as in number 1.

 

3. Manually installed the code in the Header of my theme. Used the [removed] and {literal} tags as well. Still Google says the tracking code is not installed. It should at least see the code and then say waiting for data. I understand it takes 24 hours for data to start coming in.

 

Does anyone have any ideas? I am at a loss and would really like to get the GA working.

Maybe you copied a bad ID of Google Analytics, or you have added some spaces before/after. In addition, you need to wait for some time for Google to check your website. There should not be problems with default PrestaShop analytics module.

Thanks for the response. It has been a few days from the initial try. The module never saves (retains) the ID when I put it in and I have checked for extra spaces, etc.

 

Is there any issues with working in the admin area in https?

Well I finally got the module to accept the UA number. I had to change the smarty and cache settings in performance to allow debugging. Then it allowed the module to be used. My page source also shows the UA number now. I will wait the 24 hours to see if Google sees it now.

 

I will leave this open until then.
