Change default weight from lbs to grams? + advice pls

Hi guys, still getting to grips with initial setup of my shop.

 

my main aim is to assign a weight (in grams) to each item for sale, then at the checkout stage combine all the weight amounts together & charge postage on that final weight. I will be selling in the UK only to start with & using Royal Mail for dispatch. I am a one man band atm & will only be selling 3 to 4 items in my shop to start with.

 

 

Is this possible? if so could you point me in the right direction please. I am finding it all a bit confusing atm..

In your BO go to Preferences>Localization and change your weight values to whatever you wish.
