maartenwouter
I am using Prestashop, Google Analytics, Google Webmaster all three for a few months now. The Google tracking code is set by the Prestashop Google Analytics module ( Google Analytics v1.3 by PrestaShop) Analytics and Webmaster good find the code for months Since today I still can use Google Analytics but I can not use Webmaster anymore: Verify ownership Verification failed for http://www.sigaren-online.nl/ using the Google Analytics method (less than a minute ago). The Google Analytics tracking code on your site is in the wrong location. You can verify site ownership only with the asynchronous snippet placed in the <head> section of your home page. Learn more. Verifying is not positive anymore The code is visible on the page It turns out that Google Webmaster can already find the code since end december At that time I also upgraded to the latest version of Prestashop Any clues? Richard S
Just make sure you added that meta-tag of webmaster tools to your </head>. That should be fine and never delete it.
maartenwouter
Hello Richard, Thanx for your answer I added the line to header.tpl in the theme: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="{$lang_iso}"> <head> <meta name="google-site-verification" content="ABCsGMfqZuvKjJwoeKZtMrq8QzaEY63w3PWZMVXlf_k" /> <title>{$meta_title|escape:'htmlall':'UTF-8'}</title> {if isset($meta_description) AND $meta_description} <meta name="description" content="{$meta_description|escape:html:'UTF-8'}" /> {/if} {if isset($meta_keywords) AND $meta_keywords} <meta name="keywords" content="{$meta_keywords|escape:html:'UTF-8'}" /> {/if} But Google still tells me Verification failed for http://www.sigaren-online.nl/ using the Meta tag method (less than a minute ago). We couldn't find the verification meta tag
Richard S
Hello, Have you recompiled Smarty? You need to go to Preferences -> Performence, choose force compile to yes, go refresh your page couple of times and then set it back to false (red cross). This should help.
