The requirement on database server

I use Prestashop 1.4.6.2. I have a local test host(my computer) and remote host in Godaddy. My local computer is with MySQL 5.5.15 version. Godaddy hosting is with MySQL 5.0.92-log version. I use the same install package downloaded from Prestashop to install both of my local and remote hosts. Both are installed well. I imported language package into both.

 

When I imported CSV files with Chinese character into local host, it works well. But when I imported the same CSV file into remote Godaddy, under the 'name' column some characters are lost at BO csv page. I produce another csv file and imported into local host well. I use this same file to import into remote host,under the 'name' column, the character can display well. Then I continued to click 'import csv data' , the screen tells 'name is empty for default language'. But when I import csv in English, everything is ok with both local and remote host.

 

I repeat the test more than 20 times the same result happens.

 

Can a Moderator tell me the reason why my trouble happens and how to solve the problem?
