Mike Kranzler
Hi Ampro, This is actually a known issue with Internet Explorer, as it is quickly become more and more obsolete relative to browsers like Chrome and Firefox. Even Microsoft has announced an initiative recently to force upgrades of older versions of IE, regardless of whether or not the user wants to upgrade. The main issue is that Internet Explorer only supports a maximum of 30 CSS calls, while PrestaShop requires more than that. You can try to fix this by going to your Back Office and enabling "Use CCC for CSS," although depending on your site, that may not be enough. That being said, however, everything seems to look fine in my new copy of IE9 compared to viewing it in Chrome (although as I was writing this it appears that your site went down temporarily). -Mike

bellini13
i don't think they said IE is not supported, as Mike stated he tried your site on IE9 and it worked. I checked your browser in IE9 and compatibility mode and it works fine. Using browserstack.com, I also tried your site using IE7 and IE8. IE8 is working properly, I do not see any issues with your top menu or blocks IE7 has an issue with the top menu. It appears that when you hover over the menu item, the highlighting on mouseover is not taking up the full menu item, only the bottom half. I do not see any block issues. You can review this website for IE marketshare. Unless the majority of your site users are Korean, are you overly concerned with a 5% user base? If so, then find a fix to the top menu or find another top menu that will work. http://www.quirksmode.org/blog/archives/2011/12/ie_market_share.html
Mike Kranzler
Hi Ampro, As bellini said, I think you misunderstood me. While Internet Explorer is quickly becoming more and more outdated, we do still support it, and newer versions of IE shouldn't have any issues, as we pointed out on your own site. Older versions, however, will have difficulty with all sorts of sites across the web, which is why I mentioned Microsoft's own efforts to phase out those older versions. I hope this helps clear things up. -Mike
tivicrdotcom
Since we are talking about explorer, can someone look at my site from their explorer and view the source code to find out if it displays a blank line before "<!DOCTYPE" I was saving files with the BOM and it triggered quirks mode but I re- uploaded new files without the BOM and on this laptop it displays the blank line but in my desktop doesn't! (I cleared cache on both). site at tivicr.com/tienda best regards, AJ
Mike Kranzler
Hi AJ, No blank lines on my end... -Mike
tivicrdotcom
I see a blank space Mike, so it probably looks like crap and is still triggering quirks mode What files, besides header.tpl are calls the <!DOCTYPE?
Mike Kranzler
Since we are talking about explorer, can someone look at my site from their explorer and view the source code to find out if it displays a blank line before "<!DOCTYPE" Ahh, so you were asking about a couple blank spaces, not a full blank line before <!DOCTYPE. But just FYI, nothing looks too out of the ordinary on my end when I pull up the site in IE. Your theme's background doesn't seem to mesh well with the rest of your site, but that wouldn't have anything to do with your browser. -Mike
tivicrdotcom
Thanks for the advise. What other files besides header.tpl calles the <!DOCTYPE?? The problem arised at saving files with the BOM (creating the blank space) but I reuploaded without it but only the header.tpl, so I am assuming other important files were saved with the BOM. Mike Kranzler
Thanks for the advise. What other files besides header.tpl calles the <!DOCTYPE?? Plenty of places, you can see search results (using Eclipse) for it here: -Mike
tivicrdotcom
Thanks Mike, it shows 96 places but I will only re-upload the ones I edited most recent after the problem arised. This eclipse is an app?
Mike Kranzler
Yes, and it is an absolute lifesaver when it comes to locating specific code snippets, in my experience. It was actually recommended to me by the one and only tomerg3 here on the forums, and you can download it for yourself here. -Mike
