Mike Kranzler
Hi Rich, What version of PrestaShop are you running? And are you logged in under an Administrator account? -Mike

I did think there may be another user but have no way to find this out.. Rich
Mike Kranzler
Hi Rich, Unfortunately, it appears that your friend does not have administrator rights on his site, so the ideal situation would be contacting the developer, getting his login information and then changing those rights yourself. Otherwise, the situation will be much more complicated, and you may want to consider reinstalling a fresh version of PrestaShop. -Mike

Mike Kranzler
hi Mike he cant get hold of the developer, would you advise doing a re install if I was to do this would would i need to do follow or back up thanks for helping Rich In this situation, yes, because it will save you a lot of time and effort. Our software wouldn't be very secure if it was easy to give yourself administrator rights without the proper permissions! -Mike
tbs
thanks mike can you direct me to the best place to follow for a re install? also how would you back up the site on the hosting cpanel or ? thanks again
Mike Kranzler
Hi tbs, If you have access to your hosting provider's database via phpMyAdmin or something similar, I would do it there because you don't have the administrator rights to do it through the Back Office. And if you don't, I would call your host and see what they can do to help you out in this situation. As for installation instructions, I would recommend that you start here. I hope this helps. -Mike
