SteveC007
I am just trying to set up my first online shop using Prestashop 1.4.5.1. My problem is; when creating or editing products I can spend several minutes entering the data I want and checking it is correct but then when I have finished and I press 'save' or 'save and stay' I get the log-in window which then returns me to the catalog home page without saving my work. I re-do the work only to face the same cycle. It is unpredictable as to how long or little, I have before loosing my data. How can I check and alter the timeout period to something more suitable for the speed at which I am working? This is proving exceptionally annoying as it can take me several goes and upto an hour to edit 1 item! I hope I haven't spent to long typing up this question ...... aaaaah! tdr170
The only option that I am aware of is under Preferences Look for lifetime of back office cookie. The number in the text box is in hours, check that and see where it is at. Mine is set at 480 which is about 3 weeks.
mytheory.
Hi, Have you tried doing this one another brower or two? Very rarely I will have this happen... keeps redirecting to the log in screen when I use firefox. I use firefox 99% of the time, but when this happens I test it out in Chrome, if it works I know that it's not a major problem. Basically, I have to restart the firefox browser or the computer, or clear your browser cache and cookies. Just some other thoughts... you should check your settings or settings config file. Maybe you declared the wrong directory for the root installation. HTH!
SteveC007
Thanks for the replies. The backoffice cookies are still set at their default 480. I use Chrome plus as my browser by default. Will try loading some others later, maybe even IE again (hopefully not!) Not sure where to look for the config file, will have a poke around. Thanks again, S
SteveC007
Have tried changing the back office cookie to 600 and using ie, but no difference - still being re-directed to the log-on page at random time intervals. Found the config directory on the server, but can't understand any of the files in it! Anyone got any other ideas? S
