herankoana
I am developing an ecommerce website for my father so that he may leave ebay and their terrible fees. However, he ships internationally. While the shipping calculator works at the payment screen, there are still incorrect previews in the user's cart and the sidebar mini-cart that display the default shipping for the United States. I've had a friend in Iceland and a friend in the UK test adding items to their cart, and where it should be $15, it says $5. If they go all the way to the checkout, then it switches to $15 once it has their full address. I have tested this with and without Geolocation. Please help. tomerg3
Prestashop shows the default carrier prices until you actually get to the carrier section in the checkout and see all the available ones. There are other shipping modules that offer a shipping preview before the checkout page, with the ability to change the default carrier (see http://www.presto-changeo.com/en/10-shipping-modules ), there may also be others in the Prestashop addons store. herankoana
The issue that I am having is not that the carrier chosen is incorrect (there is only one), but that the default shipping zone does not necessarily match the customer, as my father sells internationally. If the default carrier shows US shipping prices (cheaper than international) to an international customer, they may feel deceived once they reach the checkout page and see the prices go up. tomerg3
That's what I meant, you still have 2 carriers, one for domestic and one for international (that's two), and there is only 1 default carrier, and the option to choose it is on the cart / checkout page
herankoana
So is there no way to display the proper shipping costs based on the location of the shopper before the checkout?
bellini13
I think what Tomer stated is that you can, but it requires a module or customization, he even provided you with one.
