eddieuk
I tried to upgrade to svn version, to use the new search.I had just finished the whole site. Within 5mins I decided to upgrade to get tag searchs. It has destroyed my entire shop. I'm crushed.....I backup up my database before hand. Will I be able to save anything? eddieuk
The copy online is visible but the shopping basket does not work anyone.I have a very old backup copy. All the images and changes I made are still there online though. Can I install a fresh copy and use the old database without any problems?I installed the SVN in a separate folder and somehow it managed to mess up the old (backup) root copy, how did that happen? I thought I was being safe! Really annoyed by this, so much work lost....

prestabase
eddieuk,What version of PrestaShop was used with your old database? If it's the same version, you should be able to install with it.Just the database is lost, not your customizations or product images?

If it's the same version, you should be able to install with it.Just the database is lost, not your customizations or product images? The version with the database is Version 1.1.0.5.I want to install the new SVN version again and try a fresh install instead of upgrade. I have just uploaded the whole svn directory again.Yes the customisations are fine, and when I go into the back office the database is fine. It's just the front office shopping basket does not work. Also the attributes in the front office no longer show, but in the back office they are fine. The back office (Version 1.1.0.5.) is also showing parts of the new SVN (Broken Images) and links where the upgrade failed. If anyone could help I would be most grateful. eddieuk
Can't install fresh copy because of write permissions. All permissions have been set, but Presta does not like something.... As usual!Does anyone else have problems with permissions?I will have to hire in someone to help me with this if no one can help me here. I can't really afford to so if anyone can help me out I would be very grateful!

What is causes the delay? is it my server?
Dave Egerton
I am no expert in this area but I think it must be your server - Why it would it go green after so long after changing file permissions seems odd to me - its should me instant.I did an install where I missed folder permissions, changed them did a refresh and changes were immediately shown

eddieuk
Is it possible to create a fresh install and use an old database?I have my old database online now, and in order to create a fresh install I need to delete it. I'm scared of deleting it though in case I lose it. I created a backup file a while ago and its 650k, would that be the correct size for a database of around 200 products and 1000's of attributes? As you know I tried upgrading and the upgrade failed, that's why I need a fresh install. Thanks
Dave Egerton
because of your concerns, why not install it locally on your computer first with WAMP install, check everything is working etc and you also know you have a working system etc
eddieuk
because of your concerns, why not install it locally on your computer first with WAMP install, check everything is working etc and you also know you have a working system etc I have had problems trying to import my database. I have never been able to get a Prestshop database working offline. I use wamp and PhpMyAdmin to import. I have exported the database using the Prestashop back office tool "backup database".I have included a screen shot of the phpMyAdmin error. Would you be able to give me some help? pc_man
First you need to create the DataBase in PhpMyAdmin -> db_name -> then you select this DataBase from PhpMyAdmin and import tool -> now you can select the DB that you want to import or update or replace. Trip
I think pc_man gave the answer already now but to make things clearer maybe have a look at this small tutorial.http://www.siteground.com/tutorials/php-mysql/mysql_export.htm
