musicmaster Posted January 12, 2012 Share Posted January 12, 2012 If you use Google Page Speed (https://developers.google.com/pagespeed) you see that one of its main recommendations is "combining pictures in CSS-sprites" and "optimizing pictures". I am not sure about "optimizing pictures", but combining pictures into CSS-sprites can be automated (see http://spriteme.org/).
