need to customize products more

Hi! I'm using PrestaShop for the first time in a store I'm making as a surprise for a friend. He's started a business making custom instrument cables and needs a simple way for people to place orders online. What he really needs is for a customer to select a brand of cable, how many feet of it, and select up to 2 types of connectors to put on it. I use Zen Cart on my own site and that's pretty straightforward but I can't figure out how to do it in PrestaShop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
