chrishegter
Hi Fred, I am using Filezilla. My screen looks similar to that shown in the Installation proceedure, with the prestashop files shown on the local and the remote site. I click on the remote site prestashop, but nothing happens. I do not understand what this means. "have you tried turning it off and on" = "Clear you browser cache and try again." Turn what on and off? How does one clear the browser cache? I would send you a screenshot if I knew how to attach a file to this message. Thank You Chris
El Patron
Hi Chris, seems we both are up about the same time today. Screen shots are easy enough if you can get the screen shot in the first place, then if you want to post it here you click "More Reply Options", then you can "Choose Files" under "Attach Files"...after it's uploaded you then put your cursor where you want the image to display and select "Add to Post". rather than click the file in filezilla, try entering the url domain name you uploaded to in your browser. Hopefully we can get you up and running soon.
chrishegter
Hi Fred, Here is my screenshot. I don't know what you mean by "The URL I uploaded to" I uploaded to my host address at 196.22.172.55 Regards Chris Prestashop1.bmp
El Patron
Hey Chris, From looking at your screen shot I could get your installer rolling but it would be in your best interest to change your upload first. I am assuming that you want prestashop as your main website. If this is the case then read on. Your uploaded to the folder 'prestashop' in your root directory '/'. i.e. /prestashop/(all the prestashop folders and files) what one would typically do: /(all prestashop folders and files) so when you do your filezila ftp, expand folder prestashop then 'select all' the files in the prestashop folder, not the folder prestashop itself, you can do this by clickig any file inside the folder and doing ctl A. -you should delete the remote prestashop folder (clean out your remote files) -and reupload all the folders and files to your root '/' -then when you navigate to your site, the installer will run (if you really wanted your shop to run under /prestashop/, then simply naviagate to your ip/prestashop/ suerte...and don't get frustrated, learning keeps us young! chrishegter
Hi Fred, Still no sucess. I reloaded Prestashop without the Prestashop folder as you suggested. See my screenshot Auto Install still does not start I click on the remote PrestaShop files. Nothing happens. Where should I click? El Patron
Hey Chris, I dont' see the screen shot. I'm a little preplexed in that you do not have a URL, like myurl.com associated with your IP address. I've never tried to install something just using the IP address. I would have thought you would just (using your browser) navigate to your IP address but this would only work I think on dedicated IP address, not a shared IP address (which I suspect your are using. At this point, I'd contact your hosting provider, tell them you've uploaded your site but now need a way to access the site root files from a browser. The only other think I can think of is via file zilla is to select index.php and then (right click it) and see if there is a 'view on server' option.
