goanta
Just a quick question: How important for seo is to enter data in the meta keyword field in prestashop for a product. Does google actually take note of these or will it do its own thing? Thank you in advance, Goanta
Mister Denial
Among webmasters, it usually is global consensus that Google entirely ignores the keyword metatag and analyses your content to see which keywords are relevant. You should repeat the keywords you want to rank for in the H1, H2 and H3 tags, and use it in sentences following those tags, AND do so in a natural way, it should not sound too artificial. I know, kinda tricky. But it's worth spending time on that to get good organic ranking. You should still fill out the keywords (not more than 10), as there are other indexes and search engines that still do take it into account. GotLiveChat.com
The fields for META should be filled, as you never know what search engine robot might be looking at it. As far as importance to Google or Bing, probably almost none due the abuse of that tag. But there's no penalty having them in, unless you're using keywords that don't match the content. Further, it just offers any competitors a quick way to yoink your keyword list. Far more useful to encorporate your KWs throughout your page. I removed the keyword meta tag a 6 months ago from my website, and it had positive impact on visits if anything at all.
jonsen1
Google will crawl your site and it looks for keywords and it will index them in its search results. So If your page have decent traffic, your site will be ranked in organic Google SERP for the keywords you have listed. I totally agree with you reply. eclipselandscapes
Mister Denial your right i think i only ever put 3 keywords in the meta tags as i found that if you named your products right and the write up included the name of the product too we were ranked higher. Google doesn't like an abundant of keywords and ranks you down.
adam eva
key word is the main task of the seo. Choosing of the key word is the easy task but key word should be unique and meaningful which directs our web page.
