My attributes don't show in Front Office

Recommended Posts

My catalogue items have a total of 11-14 colors and 4-5 sizes, but not all the attributes display in the Front Office.

As you can see in the back office screen cap that is attached, Prestashop is generating the combinations correctly.

However in the front office, not all the colors appear in the drop down menu (in this example "teal" is missing), although the correct color chips are shown above.

To make matters even worse, some of my items have a second attribute: "accent color." In the front office however, that attribute group no longer appears AT ALL. Originally, this attribute group was doing the same thing: not listing all the attributes in the group. I tried deleting that group and making a new one. I regenerated the combinations in the back office and they appear correctly.

I've seen posts regarding Prestashop maxing out at 1000+ combinations, but that not a factor here...

I'm tempted to download one of the PrestoChangeo attribute modules, but I'm not sure if that would fix the problem and would like any input before I spend the money.

Our modules don't fix existing problems with attributes (except attribute wizard pro), they just enhance the front end experience.

Can you post a link to the product page, as someone once said "a link is worth a thousand screenshots"

I mean product and backoffice.

The product page has only 32 combinations, whereas the backoffice image shows 44, so something is not right.

They are either pointing to another database, different product, or something in you PS core was changed.

how do I go about doing any of those things? what other information would be helpful?

I'm a graphic designer, not a coder so I'm not sure what could be going awry or how to fix it.

Some other info that might not have been clear in my first post:

every single catalogue item is having this issue, not just the product I am using as an example.

the screenshots and live link are definitely the same product.

the front office is registering the changes to the back office combination generator by adding the correct color chips, so something is working right between the database and the front office product listing. What is not working right is getting the new attributes to show up in the drop down menu.

I don't know if this is on the right track, but I remember reading a similar post a few months ago. I tried to find it again and can't but here's what I remember:

The user found that her older attributes were being listed 1, 2, 3... and so forth in the prestashop code. However, after a while her new attributes started being listed in *reverse* with numbers like 599, 598, 597.... or something to that effect.

I'm not sure where in the code she was finding that information. Nor do I know if that would actually affect how the attributes appear or don't appear in the front office. No one replied to her, so I don't even know what would cause the numbering change. A prestashop update perhaps?

Does that seem like a plausible explanation for old attributes showing in FO correctly, but new ones being left off? If so, where do I correct this error?

Just throwing out ideas, since until I get my color attributes fixed, no one can order those products and I have to keep them offiline!

ok, so i'm looking at my database through my 1&1 admin panel, trying to see if anything look unusual.

It's all greek to me, but I notice that my ps_ao_attribute_order is giving me a warning that "no index is defined."

does that sound like I'm on the right track? If so, how do I correct it?
