Fresh Install: Error changing language in CMS

Recommended Posts

Hi

I've done a fresh install of prestashop 1.1.0.5 and when I try to change the language in CMS I get the following javascript error on firebug:

getE(fields + "_" + id_language) is null
http://WWW.SITE.COM/prestashop/js/admin.js
Line 84

None of the files were modified, I've just unzipped the prestashop.zip file downloaded from prestashop.com and then installed "by the book"..

I think this has something to do with the encoding of some files since the separator for the fields is a special character, but I couldn't make it to work, so I decided to make this post asking for help.

The web hosting provider is WebHostingBuzz..

Although, this doesn't happen in my home installation, using MAMP server it works like a charm.

Thanks in advanced.

Regards,
Nuno

Hi Bruno,

It seems that the problem happens when you unzip the file in the webhosting company, if you transfer AdminCMS.php by ftp you should not have any problems..

It must have something to do with the original encoding of the file.

If you still have problems let me know, I can try to debug it with you.

Nuno

hello

i think i found the problem but i dont know how to solve it...

just see the photos... the javascript that "changes the language" has a diferent character in the middle...

How do i change this?

just to say that the product.jpg has the correct character and the cms.jpg has the wrong

Hi Bruno

Send me you email by PM I'll send you a working AdminCMS.php to check if it is working.

But I restate that there's some a problem in the ORGINAL file that comes in the zip file downloaded from prestashop, I don't know which is the problem but it is the only thing I see..

Nuno

Hi

I've contacted the hosting company and they found out a strange charater before <?php tag which was causing this problem, after removing it, CMS is now working perfectly.

@Admins, @Devels:
Where to can I send the modified file since this problem comes from the original package ?

Regards,
Nuno
