How To Deal With Permanently Disabled Product Urls

Need some help regarding SEO.

I have Disabled some products (back office>catalogue) that were finished and I will not sell them in future.

I can see this message in Google webmaster.

 

Google webmaster tool >Diagnostics>crawl errors>404(not found).

I know this will affect the Google page rank, but what to do with those pages?

What is best way to deal this?

First of all make sure you are not linking to any of those pages and also check if they aren't in sitemap.xml.

 

Then you should resubmit your sitemap.

 

Also you can put a 301 redirect for those sites. e.g. redirect them to homepage
