[SOLVED] Customers Reporting Items Labeled As "backordered" In Account... Help!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I've encountered a pretty substantial problem, and I haven't figured out how to fix it in my back office.

My customers have been sending me e-mails saying that when they log into their account, it says the items they ordered are on back order.

At some point I disabled back orders so that I could have infinite inventory. Unfortunately I cannot remember where I found this option in the back office, however, this is not the entirety of my issue but an answer to this would also be very helpful.

As it is, my items will not show as back ordered under any circumstances in the store front because since they are made to order I do not have "stock" and don't need to use the inventory option.

Because of my combiatons and attibutes on the items I cannot use the inventory or "back order" function (like I said, I cannot remember exactly what it was called but it was a box somewhere that I unchecked to turn it off).

So, basically, I do not want my customers to see anything that says their item is back ordered. I want to make this completely impossible.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the responses,guys.

So, all of my items have to have combinations.

Thanks for reminding me of where my "stock management" stuff was.

So, I remember purposely allowing ordering of an "out of stock" product (since nothing is ever on backorder)

Then I said to not display available quanities on product page thinking this would make the customer not be able to see if the back office considered something "backordered".

Come to find out, when they log in it can still say backordered, then they get worried and e-mail me. (Which is tiring to say the least...)

So, now I am going to disabling stock management completely. Will this configuration, will it make it so that all my items are infitely orderable and that the customer cannot ever see a backorder label?
