led-watches.co.uk
I know theres plenty of discussions going around about the text editor but none seem to answer my problem, normally I am patient and can work things out but at the moment I am getting a headache from testing and trying to remedy this issue on my back office. I have auto upgraded to 1.4.6.2 and used the prestashop_ new theme but since this upgrade I have tried everything to get my home text editor to work correctly, I am presuming its a javascript error as I cannot format anything, not in the CMS pages, product description pages and so on, the html box wont open, font colours, fonts etc. Its causing me a problem now as I need to add a whole new line of products and cannot put a description in how I need too. So far Ive flushed the cache, recompiled, removed and re installed the editoral module tried everything I can think of....please if anyone knows how to fix this let me know! El Patron
I know this may sound silly, but have you tried clearing your browser cache? Whenever I have these sort of problems it almost always turns out to be my browser cache.
led-watches.co.uk
I clear my browser cache daily, but your comment gave me an idea and it seems its something to do with my IE...so having wasted loads of my time messing with other stuff in the BO and not thinking straight, the simplest solution was to try it on a differnt OS and browser which when on Vista and IE9 was fine, so looks like I will have to change to IE9 and see how that works!!
Mike Kranzler
Let us know how that goes! There tend to be formatting and style issues in PrestaShop with older versions of IE, and now even Microsoft has created a campaign to update their users worldwide to a newer version. -Mike
led-watches.co.uk
Hi, Updating to IE9 has solved all the problems I was experiencing, something simple as I thought and I've had nothing but trouble trying to get IE8 to work with versions 1.4+ but I avoided updating to IE9 for ages as its an awful browser to use in my opinion, just hope IE10 is better. Ideally some users may want to swap to Chrome or Firefox if they have the same problem as its obviously not a bug which for a while I thought it was, posting in the forum was my last resort after spending a couple of endless hours trying to work it out so if anyone reads this then they know what to do! Mike Kranzler
Thanks for the update led-watches! As I mentioned above, even Microsoft is trying to get their users off of older versions of IE, which is great for everyone here when it comes to potential compatibility issues. I will go ahead and mark this thread as solved for you. -Mike
