Prudence Technologies
HI, We sell sightseeing tours and tickets for the events, we have 2 different pricing, 1 for adult and 2 for kids and quantity of tickets need to be selected accordingly, Can you let me know how we could achive this. Example : You would like to buy a 3 tickets 2 adults + 1 child , the total quantity of tickets need to be reduced is 3, hence we require to display two columns of quantity [ Adults ] [ QTY ] | Child [ QTY ] in each of our product and default we need to keep it as 1 adult, can you let me know whether is it possible to achieve here if so how. Thanks in advance
FutureLED
I think if you Add combinations, have a dropdown list for Adults and Kids, set the Kids to minus whatever price, wouldn't that work?
Prudence Technologies
The Problem is that we need to have the 1 adult as basic and rest are in the combination, when we select both the combination for example 1 Adult + 1 Child , system is deducting only 1 quantity not 2 that is the problem, can anyone help. bellini13
So let assume an adult ticket is $10, and a child ticket is $5. If a customer purchases 1 adult ticket, then the quantity is 1 and the cost is $10. If a customer purchases the combination 1 Adult + 1 Child, then then quantity is 1 and the cost is $15. Can you explain why that is an issue?
FutureLED
@bellini13 I'd assume that its because there are a limited number of tickets/seats regardless of who's sitting in them child or adult. Hmm its a poser alright. I don't have the answer I'm afraid.
bellini13
good point Wesellbulbs, i would wonder then if that combination of 1 adult + 1 child is necessary? instead let the customer perform it in a 2 step process. step 1) customer adds 1 adult to cart for $10 step 2) customer adds 1 child to cart for $5 the result would be 2 products in the cart, for total of $15. FutureLED
That was my initial thought but you still can't guage how many seats (stock) are left to sell. ie: say you have 100 seats in total in a venue to sell, what would you set the stock levels at as you don't know how many adults or kids will take up the seats. bellini13
but if the venue has 100 seats, i suppose that can be configured in 2 ways, but in both scenarios a single seat can only occupy 1 person. scenario 1) 100 seats can be filled by any number of adults and kids. * after purchase of 1 adult and 1 child, there are 98 total seats left. scenario 2) 100 seats are broken down by 80 for adults, 20 for kids. * after purchase of 1 adult and 1 child, there are 79 adult seats left, 19 child seats left. FutureLED
In scenario 1, how many items do you put in stock for each attribute? in scenario 2, how do you know that the 80/20 is the correct breakdown, eg a teacher goes online and buys 1 adult ticket and 22 Child tickets, he tells his 10 colleagues about the great show and they all order the same, how do you manage the stock and not oversell the 100 seats, I think this is the crux of the problem.
