Mr.Curiosity
After using prestashop for about a year, I am still not sure how to back up our website file the correct way. What do we have to do to save/back up all the files, in case something bad happen like website crash, hacked and etc.
tomerg3
Prestashop has a built in way to backup a database (but not restore it), and it does not have a way to create a backup of all the files. Most hosts offer some sort of backup (files and database), but those usually backup your entire server, which can be very large and makes it hard to restore just your shop. You can check out our Automatic Prestashop Backup module (http://www.prestashop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/55766-module-automatic-prestashop-backup-backup-your-entire-shop-on-the-server-by-email-on-amazon-s3/) , it lets you automatically create a backup of your site (or parts of it), on both the Database and file system, and unlike any other backup software available, it has 3 ways to save the backup, locally on your server, sent via email, and also on Amazon S3 cloud server, for maximum protection in case your server crashes (and everything that was on it is lost).
