Updating Htaccess

Hello.

I decided to do some updating today and generated a new htaccess file. Oh oh ! No more access to the website, I had a message saying internal error .........

 

The only way I was able to access my front and back store was to delete my htaccess file via ftp and recreate a new one. Although now the new one htaccess file is 1.3 kb compared to 7.25 kb for the old one and now on my front page store I get a 404 error and cannot see the advertising modules anymore.

 

Is there a way of getting it back as it was before or am I doomed to start all over

Take a look at SEO & URL make sure all url's point to the correct address. if you see any incorrect, correct and regenerate htaccess and see if that helps.

You might need to clear all caches and check force compile.
