[SOLVED] 2 Problems

Recommended Posts

While configuring and setting up my shop I was inputting products and when I went to view my shop the home page keeps saying 404 Page not Found all the other pages are there

and when I try to register for an account to checkout on my shop it has no country and won't let me register

If this is not in the right place I apologize as I'm new

Thanks Sheree

Hi Sheree,

First of all, welcome to PrestaShop! Normally we ask that you post each individual question as its own thread, but I'll let it slide this time :P.

Can you please PM me (just click on my profile and click "Send me a message") with your Back Office login credentials (username, password and admin login URL) so that I can take a look at this for you?

Hi Sheree,

I took a look at this for you, and as for your first issue, the issue is that right now, your Quick Access options (in the drop-down menu at the top of your admin panel) have your shop registered with the wrong URL. Right now, it is configured in your Back Office > Employees > Quick Access as "../shop," when the correct configuration based on the current location of your homepage is "prestashop_1.4.6.2/prestashop/"

Basically, it looks like the issue can be traced back to installation. When you unzip the original download files, you have a folder titled "prestashop_1.4.6.2." Inside of that folder is another folder titled "prestashop," and inside of that are all of the software's files. If you want your website's homepage to be www.yoursite.com, you would want to transfer all of the individual files to your root, not the folder in which they are contained.

And as for your second issue, can you please try replacing your theme's order-opc-new-account.tpl file with the version here to see if that resolves this problem?

I hope this helps.

Hi Sheree,

Just so you don't feel that I've forgotten you, I am still looking into this, and will likely try to bring in a developer once he gets in tomorrow to ensure that we get this properly up and running for you. In the meantime though, can you please PM me with your FTP login credentials (host, username and password) so that we have all the necessary information to look into this?

It looks right but that is not what I get any ideas on what I might be doing wrong?

This is probably due to your browser accessing a cached version of your site. Please try to clear your browser's cache and then let me know if you start seeing the correct results on your site. Additionally, you can temporarily enable Force Compile in your Back Office under Preferences > Performance to ensure that you are seeing the most up-to-date version of your site.

Please let me know if that works for you.
