Making 1.4.3 theme compatible with 1.4.4.1

I was hoping you guys can help me with a theme compatibility issue. I ran my custom 1.4.3 theme through the prestashop theme validator before upgrading the shop to 1.4.4.1 and the result was that the theme was missing index.php files. All files were listed under "other files."

 

Can i copy the index.php files from the 1.4.4.1 prestashop theme and place them into the custom theme or does a custom theme require custom index.php files.

 

I've asked the developer this question. I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask the prestashop community's help while I wait for their response.
