intheway
Hi everyone, im recently making a prestashop 1.4 website, and i would like to have more than 150 product features per product. However it seems prestashop have a product features limit. Anyone knows how i could change this? Thanks
doekia
Hi, 150 features per product?? What do you use feature for? Best, (d)oekia
AKJV
I'm not aware of a limit for the number of features per product. I have added some 500-600 features in total and have many products in my shop with close to 150 features, perhaps a bit more or a bit less (haven't done an exact count). You could be running into a memory limit issue but that seems unlikely to me since 150 features doesn't seem absurdly high. For instance, you can create 1000 attribute combinations or more for a product before running into a memory limit...
doekia
I think the guy said: 150 features in a single product!
AKJV
I think the guy said: 150 features in a single product! That's what I meant and have as well: 500-600 features for my shop overall, with many products that have (close to) 150 features...
doekia
I did not say there is a limitation, my real question is why do you need so much. And performance wise I'm not too sure - is your shop slow? cause I do not have the feeling that was expected by the designers

And performance wise I'm not too sure - is your shop slow? cause I do not have the feeling that was expected by the designers Dear doekia, I was merely responding to the post of the topic starter in which he wonders whether there's a limit for the number of features per product. I'm not aware of such a limit and also I haven't experienced such an issue myself. Many of my products are custom build computer systems, hence the long list of specs (features) for these products. Regarding the impact on site perfomance - that's a good question. I do feel that my site loads a bit slower than I would like to see, though still acceptable (I think). Not sure if that's related to the number of features per product though or just a hosting issue. I should probably do a clean install of Prestahop on a subdomain to check this out. Kind regards, Andreas
doekia
OK for the long list of features but man 150!! We are tallking features? Things that are attached to a product not the attribute/combination thing? If I'll have to display 150 feature sure there be the birthday, name and descendant of the guy that installed the PSU!! And if you are running 1.4, and do not get too much traffic at some period, go to your overrides directory and remove those _ from the files there ... You'll get a full package of debugging and performances data. Don't forget to rename the files back with that _ to inhibit otherwise your visitors will get a surprise
AKJV
Yup, those are features for sure. It's only fair to include his qualifications, past holidays and favorite movies of the PSU guy as well But without kidding, my customers can choose between several options for most of the PC components & software/services. For that, I'm using an external module to manage attributes/combinations. But I have listed the most important features for each option thus resulting in a long list of features. I have modified the features tab (tabled layout and options grouped) so that the list is still easy to read. I wasn't aware of the debugging/analysis potential of the override/classes files. Highly appreciated and many thanks for that!
doekia
Be aware that the debugging will let nothing pass so you may end-up to PHP error and blank page if code is not perfect Including templates
