carrier options in order inconsistent

I'm working on setting up PrestaShop v. 1.4.6.1. My shipping module is USPS. I've selected two carriers, first class and priority mail, with first class selected as the default carrier.

When I do test runs with the cart, after selecting one or more items for purchase, and going to check out, sometimes the default carrier (first class) only shows up, sometimes priority mail only shows up and sometimes both do. I can't detect any pattern.

I have both carriers configured the same way, the only difference is first class is the default.

Any suggestions?

thanks

First class is only available under 13oz.

If that's the issue, then my weights aren't adding up correctly. I entered them as fractions of LBS, since none of them are very heavy. Small paperback type books and CDs.

Should I change the weight measure to ounces? Is there any reason the usps shipping module might be calculating incorrectly (too heavy)?

To be honest, I don't know, I have not used the stock USPS module in Prestashop.

You can try to see if others had the same issue, post a report in the bug tracker, try to debug yourself, or look into an alternative module (if you are presses in time).

As stated above, FIrst Class maxes out at 13 oz, which is approximately .81 lbs. I dropped my top weight range for First Class to .75 to account for any packaging. Give this a try. Also, do you have the module set up to ship all content in one box? Make sure your weight and dimensions are correct as well. Hope this helps.
