Problem with new customer account

2 weeks ago I removed birth date when a customer creates an account

 

However a new customer managed to create an account and entered the birth date.

 

What's even more weird the customer managed to create an account without entering information on 2 required fields.

 

 

I'm aware of the problem with the telephone number. You can enter a blank and it accepts a blank telephone number. (managed to fix that)

 

But the customer did not enter a state (which is a mandatory field from a drop down list) for the country

 

Tried creating a test customer and couldn't duplicate the problem.

 

How can I figure out what happened without asking the customer ?

If you have access and still have the server logs, the submission made during the problem registration will be still there. If it has been a while ago, you can see the registration date in BO to narrow down the log period. Once you locate the submission, the parameters in the request will tell you what was submitted and also the browser the user was using. That will give you a starting point for further investigation.
