Problems with upgrading from 1.2.5

Everything went well with the install. I checked my site though and it was the same as before I logged into the front panel and it was still 1.2.5 so I was confused I went into Cpanel and checked and it left the old setup in Public_html and install the new stuff under a prestashop folder inside the public_html folder so I was stupid and deleted the old stuff in public_html and copied all the new stuff to the Public_html myself and now I get server 500 error here is my error log

Hi dribblef,

Did you backup your site before upgrading? It appears that these issues are due to errors during your upgrade, so the best thing to do would be to restore your site in 1.2.5 and then try to do the upgrade again, being sure to follow every single step of the directions.

 

Alternatively, you can try opening a support ticket here.

I want to get it right last time I tried it did install but next to the old one I had to restart SQL and the old site came back up again but the new site was in my server so it was a question how to get it to point to the new folder

Go ahead and do it. As long as you're following the step-by-step directions here, you shouldn't have any issues.
