nglwthnati2de
Hi guys. Just have a quick question. My store is hosted by iPage. When I signed up with Prestshop through SimpleScripts the prestashop files were automatically installed on my server. I am thinking it is probably still a good idea to download prestashop to my computer so I have a copy of the files, right? Do I also need to download and install the servers that are mentioned? and what about installing the MySql database? That was automatically added with the install. I have messed this up one too many times and so I am trying to do it right this time.
Carl Favre
Hi nglwthnati2de, It is indeed a good idea to have a full backup of your site in case of problems. Yes you can download all your prestashop files and also your database. This way you can always restore a full working copy of your site.

What about the server, I think its WAMP or XAMP? Is that really neccessary?
Carl Favre
You only need to download/install these servers if you want to have a local server so you can install PrestaShop on your PC to make some test for example. Otherwise no need.
