ffl247
Hello everyone, I created a Prestashop website in 1.4.6.2 locally with the Prestashop_new theme. I tested locally and it looks and works great! After uploading to the server (uploading files, connecting database, changing setting.inc.php and checking rights) the whole website works fine (both BO and FO) except for the Homepage! The homepage keeps showing the main logo (top left), the searchbar (top center), the contact/sitemap/bookmark block (top center) and the shopping cart (top right) but all the rest is gone (e.g. new products block, cms pages block, TAGS etc.. Anyone has an idea.??? I googled and searched the forum for two days but nothing helps. My serverprovider only gives me 1 database, so it has been used a couple times (filled with data, emptied again etc..) but somehow that never was a problem. My configuration looks like: Server gegevens PrestaShop versie: 1.4.6.2 Server gegevens: Linux #61-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 8 20:00:13 UTC 2011 i686 Server software versie: Apache/2.2.14 (Ubuntu) PHP version: 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.9 MySQL versie: 5.1.41-3ubuntu12.10 Winkel gegevens URL van uw website: http://www.honeynails.nl/ Naam gebruikte thema: prestashop_new Mail gegevens Mail methode: U gebruikt de PHP mail() functie. Uw gegevens Gegevens van u zelf: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; nl; rv:1.9.1.4) Gecko/20091016 Firefox/3.5.4 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) FBSMTWB The Homepage (after going live) looks as attached Any suggestions are much appreciated!! Thanx in advance!
Carl Favre
Hello ffl247, I have just checked your homepage and it is working. Maybe some cache problem, have you cleared your browser cache ?

ffl247
Hello ffl247, I have just checked your homepage and it is working. Maybe some cache problem, have you cleared your browser cache ? Well, after 16 hours of searching, I can still hardly believe it, but it did indeed seem a cache problem... Difficult to believe coz I securely and regularly emptied the TOOLS/SMARTY/COMPILE and TOOLS/SMARTY/CACHE folders, changed [forced compiling] from YES to NO and back (in BackOffice-PREFERENCES-PERFORMANCE), but none of that solved the problem.. After your quick reply, I installed CCleaner (by Piriform) on both my machines (1 WINXP and 1 WIN7), cleaned the cache and..... viola.. there was - on both different machines - my Homepage (the one that was online at my hosting provider that is..!) So, thanks again for quick reply!!
Carl Favre
Glad you finally found the problem and thanks for posting the solution. Last thing, could you add [solved] to the topic title ? Thanks .
ffl247
I sound the total forum newbie (which I am) but how do I change the Topic Title..?
Carl Favre
It is true that it is not easy to find how to do it . You have to edit your first message and use the full editor. This way you can edit your title.

PurpleEdge
I think I have just been bitten by the same local cache problem! The home page is missing on my development PC, but if I go to the site from another PC it works! Thanks for posting the solution - I was getting a bit frantic!
