Carl Favre
Hello Chris2009, In your backoffice you still have french translations of your products and categories ? Have you tried to create a new category or product with both translations, does it work ?
chris2009
As you can see that the English and French combination is working perfectly find in our old version http://allgoods.us/presta30112011/'>http://allgoods.us/presta30112011/ (old version) but after upgrade all working fine but the Category and Product French content is not visible http://allgoods.us/ (new version) I followed this procedure to upgrade store as written in Prestashop Wiki http://www.prestashop.com/wiki/Installing_and_Updating_PrestaShop_software/#Update_PrestaShop I didnt get your question correctly because I dont need to create any new category or products because that was already exist in old site, and after upgrade, it is also showing up in new version. What is not showing up is Category and Product French text..
Carl Favre
OK after a quick check I can see that there is no French translation for your products/categories, it is the reason it stays in English with French language. See the screenshots below. You can see that for both US+FR languages you have the same US description. The French translations have not been imported. chris2009
Yes, I have seen this. First I Exported fr.gzip file from Prestashop old version and then Imported it to the new version. Do you think the Import is not working or I am not doing the export/import from correct place ?? Please guide.
chris2009
ccould you please guide me on how and from where to do export/import of category & products description etc?
Carl Favre
The product translation is located in your database in ps_product_lang table. There must have been a problem during upgrade. As you still have your old installation, can you try to do another upgrade and check that everything is OK during the process ?
chris2009
As per as I remember, everything was not okay and there are some SQL errors notifications in the upgrade screen which I didn't copied it. So you want me to delete the site from http://allgoods.us/ and do a fresh upgrade, right ?
chris2009
Yes, I did a fresh upgrade and before that 'deactivated' all old modules. The upgrade still shows errors (39 SQL errors have occurred) but my problem was resolved and now the FR language for Product and Category is visible. http://www.allgoods.us/fr/ My Server configuration shows: "PHP magic quotes option is off (recommended)"
Carl Favre
OK so the new fresh upgrade fixed the issue right ? Do you have the details of the 39 SQL errors ?
temmes
I have a similar problem that might be interesting. When I import products per language the import works fine. You can import data per language using the language selector when you import. The category import on the other end imports all language field with the last imported language. Thus overwriting the previous imported language. So it is not possible to import all languages this way. Is there someone else having that same issue?
