bjp
I'm trying to get a new PrestaShop store set up. Last week I posted asking about upgrading the USPS module, so far no reply. Post is here: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/143267-setting-up-new-store-usps-module-question/ My other question is does USPS ICCC department respond?? I set up general configuration, and got the message " Prestashop could not connect to USPS webservices : USPS Webservice seems to be down, please wait a few minutes and try again." Have tried multiple times. Emailed icustomercare at usps.com on the 23rd, no reply so far. Called the 800 number (1-800-344-7779) and had to get off hold after thirty minutes. Have others experienced these problems? Any suggestions?
jellybeankids
Bumping because no one has answered this yet and I also need assistance with this! Although right now mine doesn't even SHOW carriers available despite the USPS module being installed

cedricfontaine
It seems that the module is connecting to http://production.shippingapis.com/ShippingAPI.dll. Is there any change in the URL ? Did you ask your account to be live ?
tomerg3
With USPS, you MUST contact them and ask for the account to be live.
jellybeankids
I asked for mine to be live, but it STILL doesn't work! They've changed it over to production. I still get that "3) Webservice test connection : USPS Webservice seems to be down, please wait a few minutes and try again."
tomerg3
If you are sure you are in production, and still getting that error, it may be the your server is missing CURL extension. If that is installed, try contacting Prestashop or open a report in the bug tracker.
jellybeankids
I have no idea what a CURL extension is. I have the email from them that says he switched me over to production and to contact tech support from prestashop.
tomerg3
Ask your host if CURL is installed. You can also create a new php file file with phpinfo() inside which will show if CURL is present.
holysocks
The USPS module will only work if you asked for you USPS account to be in production mode. Is that right? But what if I am not ready, and would just like to test? Thank you
tomerg3
USPS does not offer the rates lookup for test mode, strange, but what do you expect from a company that is losing money and is full of bureaucracy...
