OC2PS
What impact has the new basic theme had on documentation? http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS14/Coding+a+theme The screenshots are all wrong for sure. I suspect that blocks information is not accurate either...

troyrob
Ummm this forum was specifically created to host discussion and questions on Presta 1.5 Some of us are actually using the alpha/SVN version and logging issues/feature requests into the forge. But hey if you prefer buggy software, that's your call

prestamax
I appreciate all the hard work of the developers and I am excited of all the new features in 1.5. I too would be grateful for some - at least rudimentary - documentation of the changes. Don't want to put pressure on the developers, just can't wait to take advantage of new hooks and so on ... mexique1
Actually, there are not much changes in the theme... It now has a layout.tpl file that is the main template, but all it does is display header/content/footer, so it doesn't change much. You still have opening tags in one template that is closed in another one, etc... Also it uses 960 Grid System, but it's not really useful. 960 Grid System is old, and nested rows/columns are a nightmare. Most of the CSS ids haven't changed. It's not the revolution you are expecting. What do you want to know specifically ?
Dreamtheme
The layout.tpl only servers to detect whenever is mobile agent or not and redirect to the mobile theme. However it is really need all those changes to be documented and released, PrestaTeam stated that 1.4.x themes will be compatible with 1.5 however at the current point we see nothing is compatible from the old themes even the old default theme, also there is no more "cart block" in the columns, so yes documented changes are needed, so the developers don't need to "discover" the changes by their own.
