medfordite
Alright....looked all over here and the net. Where is this mysterious module? You currently use the version 0.2 of the autoupgrade module. Please install the last version (0.2.2) I got the 0.2 from Prestashop themselves when I called them a week or so ago, but now the newest version of Prestashop mandates the new version. PurpleEdge
It's included in the 1.4.6.2 download - but I don't know if it works - I tried to install it in a test 1.4.4.1 installation and it won't install?
pasko
Hi, Be very careful with Auto-update! The best way to do it is manually, with a backup of your database and all your Prestashop files, with FTP. That way you will allays be able to restore your store! Regards. OC2PS
It's not in the add-ons section. Available for download: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/136668-1451-upgrade-guide/ FAQ: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/137315-upgrading-to-1451-frequently-asked-questions/ Worked fine for me, and thousands of other folks. Make sure you read the FAQs

OC2PS
I'm sorry to hear that it didn't work for you as well. However, that should not dissuade you or others from trying. The great thing about autoupdate is that if there is an error, you shop is not affected as autoupgrade rolls back to your current shop (it backs up all your files and database). Also, if after the upgrade you don't like the new version or your modules/theme break, you can rollback to current version with a single click. My autoupgrade from 1.4.5.1 to 1.4.6.2 didn't work the first time either. So I tried again without changing anything (the one change, which I think is incidental, was that the 2nd time I tried in Firefox with Firebug console open), and sure enough, the upgrade happened smoothly. I suspect that the first time around I might have run into server resources/timeout sort of problem. Also remember, you need to disable your shop before trying to upgrade, otherwise the autoupgrade module will say that in current configuration you are not able to upgrade, and you wont see the Upgrade now button. medfordite
Hey Everybody! Thanks for your replies. I guess I must of skipped the upgrade guide forum thinking it was only for much earlier versions of Prestashop. Getting some db backup errors so I will just a manual upgrade on my end. I am on sort of a tighter security server by the web host so think it might be something along those lines. Although did a good upgrade the other day when the previous release rolled out. phrasespot
FWIIW, could not get this module do a successful upgrade in any of the three installations I tried.Waste of time.
musicmaster
It worked for me but only after carefully reading the guidelines. I still don't understand why you need to switch those three options in the Upgrade Panel (Also save images? Keep theme "prestashop"? and Keep translations?) to yes. But if you don't it won't work. phrasespot
you need to switch those three options in the Upgrade Panel (Also save images? Keep theme "prestashop"? and Keep translations?) to yes.But if you don't it won't work. Why not make them yes by default and don't just ask then, though that is not the problem. Module does not install unless installed several times, if lucky at third or fourth attempt it will eventually install. When it installs the tab does not appear. Creating new employee and giving necessary permission the tab displays but the page is blank. All in all a dog's breakfast job. Long way to go before it can be considered ready for human consumption.
