logicallimit
Hi, I am using Prestashop for the first time. I am using it to setup a online computer store where customers can configure various components of the system and place order online. I have been trying since long to achieve it but have stuck up on following scenario: Suppose we have a base system with a definite price. The base configuration consists of chassis, SMPS and motherboard. Configurable components includes 5 processors, 3 types of HDD, 4 types of RAM, 2 keyboard, 2 mouse, and 4 types of LCD on the basis of screen size. Each of these components have multiple images. LCD is to be kept optional. That is, a customer can order the system without LCD. 1. What is the best way to set up products with this kind of configuration. I have set up attribute groups and attributes. I have also mapped attributes inside their respective attribute groups. 2. Isn't there a way where I can set price on the individual attributes itself so that whenever a customer changes a component while configuring computer, price will automatically change accordingly. This may make things easy rather than putting all permutations combinations. 3. Since our each component has multiple images, so how can I show all and only the images of the particular component selected by customer on screen. Mike Kranzler
Hi logicallimit, In the Combinations Generator after you've created the attributes and groups, you can easily add a price impact for specific attributes. For example, if a customer chooses to add an SSD, you could have the additional fee attached to that specific piece of the combination. Additionally, the Combinations Generator will make it much easier for you to offer every single combination of the various components. I hope this helps. -Mike
