Changing look and feel of the shop

I am looking for a guide which will guide me to change the look and feel of my shop. I want to create my own template and want to remove few feature, add few features.

 

I also want to understand the core functionality of controllers, modules etc.

 

Is there any guide which will help me in understanding the overview (how code is organized), how to change the look and feel, how to customize everything to suit my needs.

 

I just want to completely understand prestashop and thus want to customize according to my requirements.
