patrickvbw
Hello, Ik need help with the upgrade of my shop. I'm still using version 1.2.5.0, so i think the update process isn't going to be easy. I tried it myself, but i got alot of errors.. Can anyone help me, or describe the steps i should follow, when updating from this old version? I'm using the stock template. Thanks in advance, Patrick. Dave L
Just follow this guide and you should be OK. But make sure you follow it exactly. There is also a link to a video of the process in the guide.

bellini13
have you made any customizations to the store? specifically any core file changes or database changes? i have done numerous upgrades from 1.2.5 without issue. if you can provide the errors, that will be helpful. if you would like to have it upgraded professionally, you can send me a PM and we can discuss the details and pricing. patrickvbw
Thanks for your reply bellini I am swapping files from my pc to the ftp server now, then continue upgrading the shop trough the script. If any errors occur, i will post then here.
patrickvbw
Ok, done updating. I got the message updating was succesfull, but 44 (!) errors occurred. see below text for the errors. What to do now? ***cut errors***
bellini13
the errors seem to be from running the install/upgrade multiple times (1050) Table 'ps_carrier_group' already exists (1062) Duplicate entry '1-1' for key 1 (1050) Table 'ps_cms_category' already exists etc... I didn't go through all of the errors, but the bunch I sampled all imply that the upgrade was performed already. i hope you are not doing the upgrade directly to your live site without having tested it. do you have a clean database backup from before trying to upgrade? patrickvbw
I've undone the installation already. Got a clean backup & tried to update a backup site first. What to do now?
bellini13
if you are getting duplicate errors, then i would question the cleanliness of your backup. there are tables that simply do not exist in v1.2.5, and so if they exist before you upgrade, then that tells me an upgrade attempt was made already. patrickvbw
So you're saying, if it works after this update (with all these errors) it should be ok?
bellini13
it could very well work. these errors are kind of false negatives. it means the updates were already completed prior. however when that first upgrade was performed, if it failed for some other reason, it is hard to say things will work properly. can't hurt to try, this is why you always have a test copy of your store, so you can experiment with these things on your test site before performing them on your live site.
